DESCRIPTION
Channa masala is a simple indian masala gravy which can be served along with pulav, rice, chappathi, poori or naan

Yields: 3 Serving
INGREDIENTS
- Dry Channa - 1 Cup
- Oil - 2 Table spoon
- Chopped Onion - 1
- Chopped Tomato - 2
- Ginger - 1 Inch
- Garlic - 3 Pods
- Turmeric - 1/8 Tea spoon
- Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 Tea spoon
- Garam Masala - 1 Tea spoon
- Cumin Powder - 1 Tea spoon
- Salt - As required
- Bay Leaf - 1
INSTRUCTIONS
Pre work
- Soak channa in water over night
- Pressure cook the soaked channa for 5 whistles, drain and keep aside
- Heat oil in a pan, add onions, ginger, garlic and saute until light brown
- Add tomatoes and cook until the raw smell goes
- Switch off the flame, cool the mixture & grind it to a paste
- Heat a pan and add 1 tea spoon of oil, add one bay leaf
- Add the ground mixture & spice powders, saute until raw smells goes. (will take 3-4 minutes)
- Add cooked channa and 1/4 cup of water and cook for few more minutes
- Switch off the flame & garnish with coriander leaves
NOTES
- While cooking add/reduce water for desired consistency
- This also can be served as snack with raw onion and grated carrots
