DESCRIPTION
Raagi koozhu is a porridge made of finger millet, commonly consumed for breakfast. It has various benefits as it is rich in minerals. The nature of its low glycemic index lessens food cravings & keeps the energy up.
INGREDIENTS
- Raagi flour - 4 Table spoon (2 per person)
- Onions - 1/2 Finely chopped
- Buttermilk chilly(Dried) - 4 Crushed
- Salt - 1 Tea spoon
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Water - 3 Cups
INSTRUCTIONS
Pre work
- Mix raagi flour with 2 cups of water and mix it without lumps.
- Heat oil in a pan, once oil is hot enough, add dried chillies, & saute for few minutes
- Then add onion and saute till it turns light brown
- Transfer the cooked onion to a seperate bowl and keep aside
- In the same pan, add the raagi mixture and stir it in a medium heat
- Cook until it bubbles and it turns to deep brown in colour and glossy. Switch off the flame
- Add-in cooked onions, let it cool for few minutes, then add curd and 1 cup of water
- Can adjust the consistency by adding more water if required
STEP BY STEP PREPARATION
Keep all required ingredients ready
Heat oil in a pan, once oil is hot enough, add dired buttermilk chillies
Add onion and saute until it turns light brown & keep it aside in a seperate bowl
Mix raagi flour with 2 cups of water & stir it until it becomes glossy. Switch off the stove
Mix the cooked onion into raagi & leave it to cool down for few minutes
Add curd,water and mix it well
NOTES
- Can dry roast the raagi flour to enhance its nutty flavour
- Green chilli can also be used instead of dried buttermilk chilly
